Location
Kingston, NY 12401
Building Number: 420 Broadway
Description
The Common Council Meeting is Tuesday, March 3rd at 7:30 pm. We've come so far in these last few months! We finally got the attention of the City - they created the Special Committee on Policing specifically to consider our legislation. The Special Committee, via the Laws and Rules Committee, has submitted our legislation to a third party lawyer for review. The Special Committee on Policing has provided us with the third party lawyer's line-by-line review of our legislation, which we have brought back to the NYCLU for their review. The struggle continues!
We need to continue keeping the pressure on the City to show that the citizens of Kingston are tired of the excuses, and we want our legislation passed. Join us at this next Common Council meeting to show that the community overwhelmingly supports Police Accountability in Kingston!
**There will be the opportunity for a public comment period! We encourage folx to speak out in support of our legislation. If you would like any support on speaking, reach out to Stephanie at stephanie@riseupkingston.org**
